Unfortunately, we no longer have an active Network (MWiB) Group in the Church but we are still part of the Darlington District & follow its work with interest.
Methodist Women in Britain is a movement within the Methodist Church, led by a group of volunteers and funded by donations, which aims to connect women with an interest in creative spirituality and a passion for global social justice. The Darlington District continues to hold day conferences and residential events to which all are invited, & printed and online resources are available for use within the worship & fellowship of the church. MWiB is about more than Methodism, more than women and more than Britain — we have strong links with the World Church, and are part of the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women.
Fund Raising
2024/25 This year we are fund-raising for the Hope Church which meets in the old Co-Op Buildings in Loftus, East Cleveland. Hope4EastCleveland is a project set up by the Lay Worker for the Cleveland & Danby Circuit, It aims to support the local community offering a variety of services & activities for children, young people & families including: weekly youth groups & kid’s clubs, holiday clubs & activities, toddler groups, a community grocery & food bank, holiday hunger relief, & a school uniform bank, support with debt management, mentoring & support progammes.
