Messy Church (9:30am)
October 27 @ 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Tuesday 27th October, 10-12am
Doors open at 9.30am at Stokesley Methodist Church
Today we’ll be reading the story of ‘The Scarecrow’s Wedding’ by Julia Donaldson. The main theme is that true love, loyalty and being together matter far more than grand gestures or a perfectly flashy celebration.
We are reminded that God gave us families, friends & a church community. Just like the animals helped Harry & Betty, God wants us to help each other. When we work together, we can overcome big problems & celebrate wonderful moments. God is exactly like Harry. He is always loyal. He never gives up on us & he is always there to rescue us when things get scary.
Key Themes in the Story
- Love and Dedication: The core of the story highlights unwavering devotion. Betty & Harry care deeply for each other. Harry’s journey to find the ideal items for their big day shows that commitment takes effort and persistence.
- Perseverance over Adversity: When the wicked interloper Reginald Rake tries to ruin their plans and puts Betty in danger, Harry steps up heroically to save the day, proving his steadfast loyalty.
- Community and Friendship: Farmyard animals join in to help prepare for the big event. This cooperation shows the value of working together and supporting loved ones.
- Creativity and Resourcefulness: The characters use everyday farm materials to invent solutions, craft objects, and pull together their wedding list, turning challenges into creative tasks.
Come & enjoy a morning of crafts and music, worship and celebration.
