Called to serve God by increasing awareness of His presence and declaring His love

‘I Daniel Blake’ Study Group (2:00pm)

Date:
Time:

The film tells the story of Daniel Blake, a 59-year-old widowed carpenter who must rely on welfare after a recent heart attack leaves him unable to work. Despite his doctor’s diagnosis, British authorities deny Blake’s benefits and tell him to return to his job. As Daniel navigates his way through an agonizing appeal process, he begins to develop a strong bond with a destitute, single mother who’s struggling to take care of her two children.

The film draws our attention to the plight of those who struggle to survive at the mercy of a system which leaves little room for respect or humanity.

This series of study groups are meeting in the Manse to engage in conversations around the questions posed by ‘I, Daniel Blake’. Rev Andrew will lead the groups in Prayers, Bible Readings, and Questions for Study and Reflection.
